November 12-15, 2020
Due to the sharp increase in the number of reported COVID-19 cases for Franklin County, Mayor William May is asking that everyone follow the Red Zone Reduction Recommendations listed below until Franklin County is no longer in the red zone. This has affected the schedule for Candlelight weekend. Please check our Facebook Event Page for the most updated schedule of activities and business hours.
We know everyone is confused about the upcoming Candlelight Weekend and we want to clarify.
Candlelight Weekend is (not exactly) cancelled.
What does that mean?
Yes, it is true that carriage rides are cancelled - along with some of the street closures and other (crowd-drawing) activities.
But you can still SUPPORT our downtown in the following ways…
YES to shopping safely (virtual, curbside, online and [masked] in-person)
YES to dining safely (curbside and outdoor seating)
YES to Christmas music (being piped through downtown via our live radio van!)
YES to Christmas decorations (visit our beautifully lit Christmas tree and visit the merchants)
YES to luminaries (enjoy a [socially-distanced] walk through our historic downtown)
YES to holiday to-go kits (art projects to complete safely at home)
Eat • Shop • SUPPORT!
We urge everyone to follow all CDC guidelines on masking and social distancing!
MANY THANKS to our sponsors & community volunteers who make this beloved community event happen! We couldn't do it without your support!
