Lloyd's Kentucky, Inc (200 W Main) History of the building and its murals: On March 18, 1916, the doors were opened on the new State National Bank Building at 200 West Main Street, Frankfort, Kentucky. The building was unique in that the exterior façade was complete with white terra cotta and granite. The inside west wall was bare until 1937 at which time Emil Terlinden was commissioned to paint three murals. Terlinden, 60 years old at the time, was from Cincinnati, Ohio.
Each mural represents an event or place in the history of Frankfort. The first mural is a painting of the old covered bridge at St. Clair Street. The second is a representation of General Lafayette being greeted by Senator John Brown's family at Liberty Hall. The third depicts Daniel Boone overlooking Frankfort from a high point at the Frankfort Cemetery.
